Visit the Coverage & Benefits page to learn about coverage levels under your plan.

Visit the Coordination of Benefits page.

The status of your U.S. claim can be found on the Claims Summary page.

The status of your international (outside the U.S.) claim can be found on the Global Gateway Claim View page.

Visit the Accounts Balances page or Home page.

Visit the ID card page to view, print, or order ID cards.

Outside of the U.S., you may visit any provider you wish. We can help you find a direct pay provider near you by using our international provider search tool or contacting us. Internationally, there is no concept of in or out-of-network, and you will be covered under the “international” tier of your benefits.

Inside the U.S., look up a provider in the Find Care page.

Outside of the United States, many providers require a letter of Guarantee of Payment to confirm coverage and benefits in advance of billing UnitedHealthcare Global directly for any care rendered. You can arrange direct payment to a provider by completing a short form and presenting this to your provider. Alternatively, you can contact us for assistance and we will communicate directly with the provider to arrange billing.

In the U.S. members in health plans that offer tiered benefits may pay less for services provided by Tier 1 providers.

When you need medication attention right away, there are a couple of options: Emergency Rooms, Urgent Care Centers, or your Primary Care Physician.  The following guidelines can help you decide which is right for you.

  • Emergency Rooms
    • If the condition is life-threatening, go to the Emergency Room or call 911 – or its in-country equivalent.
    • Emergency Rooms are used for conditions that require fast or advanced treatment not available in an urgent care setting (or if urgent care centers do not exist in your location). Emergency Rooms are designed to manage life-threatening situations, such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, traumas, etc.

  • Emergency Rooms are best for
    • Heavy Bleeding
    • Large, open wounds
    • Chest Pains
    • Sudden weakness or trouble talking
    • Major burns
    • Spinal injuries
    • Severe head injuries
    • Difficulty breathing
    • Major broken bones

  • Urgent Care Centers
    •  An Urgent Care Center can be a good option if you need care fast but your Primary Care Physician is unavailable.  They can treat many minor injuries and ailments and the chances are you won’t have to wait as long as at the ER. You may pay less too.
    • It is important to get familiar with navigating the healthcare system in your geography to identify the right care for you.

  • An Urgent Care Center might be the right choice for
    • Sprains
    • Strains
    • Minor broken bones (example: finger)
    • Minor infections
    • Small cuts
    • Sore throat
    • Rashes

  • Primary Care Physician
    • If your medical issue is not urgent, it’s usually best to go to your regular doctor’s office. Your doctor can provide you with follow-up care or refer you to a specialist.

To find Mammogram services in the U.S., visit the Find Care page, select Find Provider, and then under Tests and Imaging, look for Radiology, MRI, and/X-Ray facilities.

Outside of the U.S., you may visit any provider you wish. We can help you find a direct pay provider near you by using our international provider search tool or contact us.

• In the U.S., your physician or facility may not be listed in the directory because they do not participate in your network. You can ask them if they participate. Even if they do not, you may still be able to visit them if your plan offers a non-network benefit. Visit the Coverage and Benefits page to see if you can still visit them and what your additional costs might be.

• Also if you cannot find your physician or facility, make sure you searched for the correct listing. If you searched by the doctor or facility’s name, check to confirm the spelling is correct, or try using just the first few letters of the facility name or doctor’s last name.

Some plans do not require pre-approval and cover emergency care at the network benefit level, regardless of network status. Visit the Coverage & Benefits page for details.

Not in most circumstances. Visit the Coverage & Benefits page for further details about your plan.

  • The Shared Savings program lets you reduce the cost of covered non-network services by visiting participating physicians and facilities.
  • How Shared Savings Works:
    • Though your claim will still be paid based on your plan’s non-network benefit level, Shared Savings physicians and facilities agree to accept payment at a discounted rate. The amount paid after discount is then used to determine your out-of-pocket cost.
    • Shared Savings physicians and facilities will not collect the potion of the billed charges that exceeds the discounted rates.
