Renewing your KanCare Medicaid benefits

What is KanCare Medicaid renewal?
It’s the way to see if you are eligible to keep getting Medicaid benefits for another year. Look for mail from KanCare. KanCare will send a letter when it is time for your Medicaid eligibility to be renewed. You may need to provide information to KanCare to complete your renewal. When KanCare asks for information, respond by the due date provided.
To ensure you receive your renewal letter, is important that KanCare has your current address. To update your address, you can:
- Call the KanCare Clearinghouse at 1-800-792-4884, or
- Call you MCO Member Services (number on the back of your KanCare card).

If you want to know when is your renewal date, please call Member Services.
What documents will KanCare need?
It will depend on what applies to you, so check your notice. Once you have completed your renewal, continue to check your mail in case KanCare requests further documents.
What happens if I miss the renewal due date?
If you miss the renew due date, your benefits may end.

Ways to renew
By mail
Review, complete and sign the renewal form you received from the state. Mail it to:

Online

If you do not have an online account, you can create one. Once created, you will need to send a request through the online portal to have your case linked to your account. Your case number can be found on the notice you received from KanCare, or you can call UnitedHealthcare Member Services at 1-877-542-9238 to request it. If your benefits are ready to be renewed, you will see a link to Complete a KanCare Review from the drop-down menu under Access my KanCare.
By phone
If unable to renew by mail or on-line, you may call 1-800-792-4884 to discuss other available options to submit the renewal form.
